Tree Browser
Navigate the directory hierarchy with lazy-loading, paginated children, container-only filtering, and object-class-aware icons with distinct colors for users, groups, OUs, computers, and more.
Powerful Search
Quick search with a schema-populated attribute picker, plus an advanced mode with raw RFC 4515 filter entry, real-time syntax validation, attribute autocomplete, and scope and size-limit controls. Selecting specific attributes correctly limits which attributes are shown in results; the picker auto-removes [All Attributes] when specific attributes are added. Search history restores all settings — selected attributes, size limit, and scope — and displays which attributes were used.
Search Results Table View
When specific attributes are selected, view search results in a spreadsheet-style table with one row per entry and one column per attribute. Cells are directly editable and changes are written back to LDAP immediately. Export the full result set as CSV.
Saved Searches
Save frequently used search configurations by name for instant recall. Saved searches auto-execute on selection and restore all parameters — filter, scope, attribute selection, and size limit — so common directory lookups are always one click away.
Attribute Viewer & Editor
Syntax-aware rendering for DNs, booleans, timestamps, integers, and binary data. Edit, add, and delete values with full schema awareness. Collapsible multi-value display.
Entry Management
Create new entries with a schema-driven wizard, rename and move entries with ModifyDN, clone from templates, and delete entries — all with schema-aware attribute forms.
TLS & Certificate Trust
Full TLS/LDAPS support with interactive certificate chain inspection. Trust a certificate once or pin it to a profile. Forget trusted certificates at any time.
Connection Profiles
Save connection profiles with securely stored credentials. Import and export profiles as .arborconnections files. Import existing connections directly from Apache Directory Studio. Per-profile read-only safety mode prevents accidental changes.
LDIF Import & Export
Export single entries, children, or entire subtrees. Import LDIF files with continue-on-error, real-time progress, per-entry logging, and optional log files. Configurable export formats in Settings — line separator, fold length, CSV delimiters, quote character, and encoding — for both LDIF and CSV output.
Password Management
Change passwords via RFC 3062, AD unicodePwd, or eDirectory Universal Password. Active Directory-specific toggles for must-change, cannot-change, and never-expires policies.
Account Enable / Disable
One-click button to enable or disable accounts. Works across Active Directory (userAccountControl), eDirectory (loginDisabled), and 389DS/OpenLDAP (nsAccountLock).
Platform-Specific Administration
ArborJ auto-detects the connected server type at bind time and loads the appropriate toolset for each platform.
Active Directory Tools
Domain info dashboard, default and fine-grained password policies, account lockout status with unlock, nested group membership resolver, and per-attribute replication metadata viewer.
eDirectory / OpenText Tools
Full ACL/trustee editor with tree-wide support, effective rights calculator, DirXML and Identity Manager command submission, server statistics, and security equivalence auto-sync. DirXML Association Modifier lets you view, add, remove, disable, enable, and migrate DirXML-Associations on any eDirectory object — including bulk operations across multiple entries.
Server Monitoring
Server statistics and cn=monitor readers for eDirectory, OpenLDAP, and 389DS. Replication agreement status for 389DS. All accessible from the Tools menu with keyboard shortcuts.
Directory Compatibility
ArborJ connects to any RFC 4510-compliant LDAP server over LDAP or LDAPS.
